Aalayah’s mother is also a nursing assistant whose friends say she is selfless and kind. People have donated over $10,000 to the fundraiser to help defray costs associated with this tragic accident.
But all the money in the world wouldn’t guarantee the teenager cure. Throughout the ordeal, the family maintained their faith, knowing that God was ultimately in control, and publicly acknowledged His hand in their situation.
“Even though it’s going to be a marathon, she’s running this race like the track star that she is,” says Aaliyah’s aunt. She’s even ready to watch a movie and she still fights and fights her way through every obstacle that comes her way.
“Only God can turn a tragic situation like this around because He always, always has the very last word. Only he can revive someone’s heart that has stopped.
“We thank God for her life right now because she’s still here when they said last Friday there was nothing else they could do.”
After two months of treatment, healing and prayer, Aalayah was finally able to go home from the hospital. She was greeted with a garden grill.
“Thanks first to God, then thanks to the doctors, nurses, assistants, ministers, churches, family and friends who have helped our family survive this terrible tragedy,” said Aalayah’s grandmother. Judy Faye Fulmore Gamble shared on Facebook.
“After 60 days in the hospital with uncontrollable internal bleeding for a week, kidney failure for 3 or 4 weeks, part of her bowel removed, 7 major surgeries, gotten laid 3 times and on life support for weeks, Aalayah finally has to go home today. Greetings to all.”
“It was just… a lot,” mom Stacy Fulmore said WLBT. “It was like a roller coaster of emotions.”
“A miracle,” added Richmond. “Just a miracle. We never gave up. We just said she’ll do it… and she did it.”
The family still wants answers and is hoping a suspect will be identified and brought to him justice nothing like that will happen to anyone. The police have not yet said whether there are interested parties.
