Leeds United and Manchester United target Sergio Gomez has admitted he is unsure of what his future holds as the Spanish youngster is being linked with a move to England.
Talking to El Larguero from Cadena Ser over the mirrorthe 21-year-old full-back was asked if he has been approached by prospects in recent weeks, with Gomez a target for both Leeds and United.
TeamTalk has already made a claim that Jesse Marsch’s side are interested in the former Barcelona academy talent and Gazzetta dello Sport go on to report that United are also interested in the Spain youth international.
Gomez joined RSC Anderlecht last summer after failing to impress at Borussia Dortmund. Since joining the Belgium side and going from creative playmaker to left-back, the youngster has flourished under Vincent Kompany.
The full-back has registered an impressive six goals and 14 assists in all competitions for Anderlecht and Gomez’s form has now caught the attention of Leeds and United, with Manchester City also said to be interested in the 21-year-old.
However, when asked about his future, Gomez admitted he is just focused on the rest of the season. The defender said: “I’m concentrating on the last few months I have left. I’m concentrating on the national team and the club and I’m taking advantage of every opportunity. I don’t know, really.”
Gomez’s comments shouldn’t concern either Leeds or United
With 14 assists this season, Gomez has been a creative revelation for Anderlecht, who could expect a big payday this summer should Leeds or United step up for the defender, with the full-back’s comments not posing a major problem for either side.
Indeed, Gomez’s comments could indicate that the defender intends to end the season on a high, which could both increase his interest over Leeds and United and increase his value, something Anderlecht are sure to do ahead of the summer.
