£15m Mourinho’s signing at Tottenham is now valued at £45m, as is Heung-Min Son

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Heung-Min Son have a lot in common at Tottenham.

Not only do they have double-edged names, but they’re also underrated figures in north London.

Even when Son secured the Golden Boot for his 23 goals during the 2021/22 Premier League season, he was still not nominated for PFA Player of the Year. Work that out!

That just goes to show how undervalued the South Korean star is and it probably reflects his value in the market.

According to CIESHojbjerg is valued at £45million, as is his Tottenham Hotspur teammate Son.

To put that in context, the Premier League’s most valuable player is Manchester City’s new boy Erling Haaland at £129m.

Declan Rice, who plays a similar role for West Ham as Hojbjerg does for Spurs, is valued at £64million.

HOJBJERG IS IMMENSE FOR TOTTENHAM

Anyway, for the Danish star he has come a long way from the £15million paid by Tottenham for his services (Sky Sports) when Jose Mourinho was in charge.

He didn’t come from Southampton as a proven performer or someone likely to be sought after by many teams.

But he has proven to be a top-notch buy and is a player who will be greatly missed when he is no longer in the XI.

Hojbjerg has thrived week after week under Mourinho and he has now continued to do so under Antonio Conte’s stewardship.

And next season, when Champions League football returns to Spurs, Hojbjerg and many Spurs players will have a chance to take their game to an even higher level.
