2023 WGC-Dell Matchplay: How to watch Wednesday

The 2023 WGC-Dell Technologies Matchplay begins on Wednesday, March 22nd with the opening round of matches in Austin, Texas. Here’s what you need to know to watch Round 1 of Match Play on TV or online.

Matchplay Round 1 preview

Unlike most tournaments, due to its unique match-play format, the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play features five rounds, with the first round starting on Wednesday morning. On Day 1, 32 round-robin matches will be played at the Austin Country Club.

Each game will feature players from a group of four, and at the conclusion of the first three rounds, the winner of each group advances to the knockout stages at the weekend. So a hot start with a win on Wednesday is crucial for players eyeing a win this week.

Day 1 will see Rory McIlroy take on Scott Stallings starting at 11:26am ET.

Golf Channel will televise the opening round of the 2023 WGC-Dell Technologies Matchplay on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET with a six-hour televised broadcast.
