8 Things To Do After Defeating Pokemon Scarlet & Violet (Post-Game & End Game)

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet has been out for almost a week now and players are slowly starting to finish it. Despite its bugs and glitches, the overwhelming majority of the fanbase agree that Scarlet & Violet has a fantastic story for all to enjoy. However, what remains to be done after defeating the final boss? We are here to discuss that. So let’s discuss today 8 things to do after defeating Pokemon Scarlet & Violet.

Challenge the Gym Leaders again

After defeating the game’s final boss and rolling the credits, you will be teleported back to Naranja Academy to discuss what happened with Principal and Champion Geeta. Once the situation is explained, Geeta will ask you to help her reassess the strength of the Gym Leaders.

After accepting this task, you can once again challenge all Gym Leaders with their new power-up teams. Each Gym Leader will have teams of five Pokemon, all around level 65-67. Defeating all eight Gym Leaders again unlocks the next post-match activity, the Academy Ace Tournament.

The Academy Ace Tournament is a brand new post-game activity that pits you against recharged Trainers like Arven, Nemona, the Elite Four, Champion Geeta and more! You will be randomly assigned to battle one trainer per round, for a total of four battles.

Players can join the tournament whenever they want, making it a great resource for leveling Pokemon since all trainers are Pokemon levels 65-68. After winning a tournament for the first time, you receive a call from Instructor Jacq regarding 5-6 Star Tera Raids.

Higher Tier Tera Raids

Previously, you could only find and challenge 1-4 Star Tera Raids. However, after completing the Academy Ace Tournament for the first time, you can now find and challenge 5-6 Star Tera Raid battles. 5 Star Tera Raids are against level 65 Pokemon, while 6 Star Raids are against level 75 Pokemon.

As you might expect, the higher the difficulty, the better the rewards. Defeating these high tier raids will grant you a higher chance of earning a Herba Mystica, which can be used for various sandwiches as well as other exclusive rewards like rare candies.

Catch Paradox Pokémon

Paradox Pokémon are a unique new subspecies introduced to the franchise as past or future versions of existing Pokémon. An example would be the image above featuring Iron Hands, a future version of a Hariyama, and Iron Valiant.

Players would have already fought or seen some throughout the game, including a whole team of them as they face the final boss. Now that the story is complete, players can hunt them down before they cause trouble in the Paldea region.

Catch another Koraidon/Miraidon

At the beginning of the game you got a Koraidon/Miraidon for almost nothing, so you never really got a chance to catch one. However, that changes in the aftermath. After defeating the final boss, you can now make your way back to where the final battle took place, where a second Koraidon or Miraidon will be waiting for you. This time you can fight properly and catch one for yourself.

Keep in mind that while Koraidon and Miraidon can be caught, they are shiny locked, meaning that no matter how many times you try, you won’t be able to get a shiny version of them for our shiny hunters out there.

Find hidden legendary Pokemon

Glowing stakes of different colors are hidden throughout the Paldean region for you to collect. Collecting all missions of each color will unlock hidden shrines throughout the region that contain Legendary Pokémon. For example, if you collect all eight yellow stakes on the western side of the region, players will have an opportunity to find and catch the Legendary Pokémon Chien-Pao. There are four hidden Legendary Pokémon for players to find and catch.

Brilliant Hunt

Thanks to the game’s open-world setting, finding Shiny Pokémon has never been easier in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. What’s more, you can now increase the chances of finding a Shiny Pokemon even more with the Herba Mysticas from 5-6 Star Tera Raids! You can find suitable instructions here.

Complete the Pokedex

Of course, the final post-game activity is catching them all! Pokemon Scarlet & Violet features around 400 Pokemon for players to find and catch. Catching them all will reward you with the Shiny Charm, further increasing your chances of finding Shiny Pokemon, and a Diploma from Director Chavell, honoring you for all your hard work.
