A Christmas Smile event brings Christmas cheer to York

YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) – People gathered in York County today to celebrate the 20th annual “A Christmas Smile” event.

This event is an opportunity for members of the community to give back.

A Christmas smile welcomes anyone to York looking for a warm place to celebrate the holidays. People gathered at Elk’s Lodge.

The event featured a full buffet, children’s gifts and donated items such as blankets, toiletries and gift cards.

The A Christmas Smile Fund says the event has continued for the past 20 years thanks to volunteers.

“This year I’m dedicating it to all of my volunteers who have helped me over the years because without them we could never have done this for so long and it seems like I’m recruiting new volunteers every year,” said Jeffery Crouse, the founder by A Christmas Smile.

The event ended at 1 p.m. on Saturday. However, Crouse said there was a long line before the event opened at 7am
