A Denzel Washington action sequel is making its way to the top of the streaming charts

In Denzel Washington’s eyes, all revenge is equal.

Fall, Triangle of Sadness and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, your reign as Hulu’s Streaming Top 3 is about to end as a Denzel Washington sequel is coming and you will be fighting to climb even higher. Per Flix Patrol, The Equalizer 2, the exciting sequel to the 2018 action thriller, climbs the charts and peaks at number four.

Anyone who’s ever seen the actor knows Washington is known for its action, and the Equalizer series is no different. The plot of the second part is a fairly straightforward revenge flick, as its character, Robert McCall, goes on a rampage after the murder of one of his friends and tries to bring those responsible to justice.

This film was the fourth collaboration between Denzel Washington and director Antoine Fuqua. The duo still pulled it off when the film delivered, grossing $190.4 million worldwide and beating The Equalizer’s first weekend earnings. Unfortunately, viewers and critics didn’t like it as well as the original, as The Equalizer 2 has a disappointing 52% critic rating and 60% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Despite the low scores, The Equalizer 2 has managed to make its way into the top 5 when streaming in places as diverse as Japan, Argentina and Jordan, showing it has legs all over the world. The first film, The Equalizer, is also enjoying a resurgence, having also made its way into Hulu’s top 10, coming in only marginally at ninth place.
