She was married to Joseph Medill Patterson Albright from 1959 to 1982. The couple had three daughters before their divorce.

Joe Biden remembers the former politician

In a lengthy statement on March 23, Joe Biden paid tribute to Madeleine as he remembered her for her accomplishments.

He called: “America has never had a more committed advocate of democracy and human rights than Secretary of State Albright, who personally knew and wrote forcefully about the dangers of autocracy.”

“When I think of Madeleine,” Biden added, “I will always remember her fervent belief that ‘America is the indispensable nation,'” he added.

Meanwhile, Bill Clinton called her “one of the finest Secretary of State, an outstanding ambassador to the UN, a brilliant professor and an extraordinary human being.”
