A model’s headless body is found dismembered in the fridge as police arrest her ex-husband and father-in-law

Former family members of a missing model have reportedly been arrested after her body was brutally dismembered and found in soup pots.

Hong Kong’s Lung Mei Tsuen village was a butcher shop on Friday when parts of Abby Choi were discovered in a refrigerator.

Police first arrested Ms. Choi’s ex-husband’s parents and older brother when her body and belongings were found in the property rented by her former father-in-law.

After an extensive search, Ms Choi’s former partner, 31, was arrested yesterday on suspicion of murder, according to the South China Morning Post.

Police told the publication that the attack was “well planned” and “premeditated,” adding that there were many “smoke screens” that could distract from the truth.

Superintendent Alan Chung Nga-Iun told the publication, “We are still searching for the head, torso and hands that we believed were disposed of.”

A missing persons investigation was only initiated on Tuesday after the young model had not picked up a child as planned.

At the time, Ms Choi was fighting with her ex-husband and his family for HK$100 million (£10.7million), authorities suggested.

Police searched the father-in-law’s home on Friday was reportedly equipped with gadgets such as a meat grinder, shredders, a hammer, and an electric saw.

The property was then cordoned off, with 20 police officers reportedly coming in and out to investigate the crime scene.

According to The Strait Times, an underwater search is due to be conducted this afternoon to look for the remaining parts of Ms Choi’s body.

Police also confirmed today that “an autopsy will be carried out later to determine the cause of death of a 28-year-old woman”.
