A Queensland man sleeping on Newell beach is attacked by a saltwater crocodile

A camper had the shock of his life after waking up on a beach to a saltwater crocodile snapping at these heels.
The 65-year-old man was resting in a sleeping bag on Newell Beach in far north Queensland on Tuesday night when the predator approached around 9pm, according to Newsport.
He woke up and found himself face to face with the animal, but in a desperate panic managed to flee.
The man was taken to Mossman Hospital, about 4.5 miles from Newell Beach, at 10 p.m. with a foot injury sustained from a bite.
It is believed that one of the crocodile’s teeth became lodged in its foot.
He was treated and discharged from the hospital overnight.
