Actress Anne Heche suffered severe burns in a single car crash

Actress Anne Heche was in critical condition after a car crash on Friday in which she drove into a house, setting it on fire.

“Anne is in the ICU, she is lucky to be alive. She was badly burned and had a long time to recover. Her team and family are still trying to process what led to the crash,” a source told CNN.

Jeff Lee of the Los Angeles Police Department said her vehicle was traveling at high speed at the time.

Both the car and the house are said to be engulfed in flames.

Deadline reports that journalist Stu Mandell, who observed the wreckage from the air, commented: “If anyone was alive in it, it would be a miracle.”

Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department said: “Fifty-nine firefighters took 65 minutes to reach, contain and completely extinguish the stubborn fire inside the heavily damaged structure.

Witness Roy Morgen said Heche’s car crashed into a room occupied by a woman, according to CBS News.

No other injuries have been reported.

TMZ reported, the incident began when Heche’s blue Mini Cooper crashed into the garage at an apartment complex.

“Residents of the apartment complex tried to get Anne out of the car, but she reversed the car and sped away,” the outlet reported.

The second crash occurred shortly after the first, according to TMZ.

Heche is known for his roles in films such as “Donnie Brasco” and “Six Days Seven Nights”. She once dated Ellen Degeneres.
