Alan Shearer thinks a Liverpool player was “sensational” against Chelsea

Liverpool ace Trent Alexander-Arnold was “sensational” against Chelsea as the Reds won the FA Cup, according to pundit Alan Shearer.
Liverpool were aiming for a second trophy of the season and a second win in the cup final against Chelsea.
The Reds defeated Chelsea on penalties in February’s Carabao Cup final after a 0-0 draw in 120 minutes.
Remarkably, it was exactly the same on Saturday night.
Both teams created plenty of chances but just couldn’t find the net meaning it was another Wembley shootout for Jurgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel.
It was Liverpool who emerged victorious again as Alisson Becker saved Mason Mount’s penalty in sudden death.

Kostas Tsimikas stepped forward to score the crucial penalty and gave Liverpool another domestic trophy this season.
With the Premier League and Champions League still a possibility, Liverpool could still win a quadruple in what will be a stunning season.
Liverpool ace Trent Alexander-Arnold was ‘sensational’ against Chelsea.
There have been a number of good performances from the Liverpool team, particularly in the back line.
Ibrahima Konate dealt perfectly with Romelu Lukaku while Joel Matip filled in well when Virgil van Dijk was injured.
Arguably the standout player, however, was right-back Alexander-Arnold, who had a tough job defensively.
Marcos Alonso and Christian Pulisic combine on Chelsea’s left flank, causing problems for Alexander-Arnold.
However, Alexander-Arnold equipped himself well defensively and then had the quality to work forward.
Questions are being asked about Alexander-Arnold’s ability to defend, but if people really watch him, they’ll see his vast improvements.
Expert Alan Shearer was certainly impressed to BBC Sport (May 14, 7:45 p.m.) that in his opinion Alexander-Arnold was “sensational” for Liverpool against Chelsea.
Shearer praised Alexander-Arnold’s defense as well as his “outrageous” passing game and even praised his “fantastic” penalty shootout.
“I think Trent Alexander-Arnold was sensational today,” said Shearer. “Both defensively and some of his passing were outrageous. I thought it was fantastic that he saved a penalty so coolly,” he added.
