Carlos PenaVega and his boy band Big Time Rush can’t get enough of performing for fans – but it’s forcing the Hallmark Channel star to be away from his family for the next month. Though his wife and Hallmark colleague Alexa PenaVega previously said they wouldn’t “split up” their family for more than two weeks at a time, the couple’s recent work schedules have made that goal impossible. But the PenaVegas, who wed in 2014, are still keen to find ways to stay connected and grounded despite the “busyness.”


Alexa PenaVega admits that limiting the time to 2 weeks is not always feasible

On February 6, 2023, Carlos appeared on the TODAY Show with fellow Big Time Rush members James Maslow, Logan Henderson and Kendall Schmitt to perform their new single “Can’t Get Enough” live for the first time and announce their 35-city summer tour beginning June 22nd.

Almost 10 years after the final episode of their Nickelodeon sitcom aired, the boy band are hot again after a sell-out 2022 tour, upcoming Latin American dates and new summer tour. They have been to New York for media appearances including a Acquisition of Billboard’s Instagram Stories, and prepare for it a trip to Latin America that begins on February 23 in Chile.

Although Alexa and her children – sons ocean6 and Kingston, 3 and a year old daughter Rio – who joined Big Time Rush on their North American tour last summer, she recently shared in an Instagram Story that the family will not be traveling to Latin America with three young children due to complicated logistics.

That means the couple will be separated for the next month, which Carlos alluded to an Instagram post on February 5th. He shared a photo of himself lounging with Rio and Kingston on the couch at their Maui home while watching “Frozen.”

“One last cuddle session before dad leaves for a month,” he wrote.

Alexa has already started cheering for her husband from afar, posting to her Instagram Stories about his appearance on the TODAY Show on Feb. 6.

She said: “Can we talk about the guys appearing on the TODAY Show this morning? And they were amazing! Who saw it because it was so good and I watched it over and over and over again?

Although Alexa said KTLA in July 2022 that they will not “break up” their family for more than two weeks at a time, the couple has had to extend the time they have been apart for the past few months.

She said at the time: “What we have set up is that we don’t take on projects at the same time. If they disagree by two weeks, that’s fine. But beyond that, we don’t share our family.”

But in November 2022, Alexa had to be separated from Carlos and her children for 23 days while filming in Paris and Bulgaria “A Paris Proposal” which premieres on Hallmark Channel this Saturday, February 11th. In an Instagram photo Saying goodbye at the airport, she wrote about how hard it was to leave.

“Well, I’m gone! And cry already,” she wrote. “23 days without my beautiful family by my side. We try our best not to go longer than two weeks if we have to. But sometimes that’s just not possible. But it’s moments like this that remind me how blessed I am and how much I love all my stinkers.”

While an Instagram Live Communicating with fans throughout her film shoot, Alexa said that while it was hard being away from her kids for so long, it was also “a little bit awesome” because she was able to focus fully on work. She also said Carlos had a “little help” with the kids but managed everything well at home.


PenaVegas top up in Hawaii and Florida when they don’t work

Alexa and Carlos, who are vocal advocates of holistic health and all-natural products, moved to Hawaii with their family from Los Angeles in 2017. according to People magazine. And in 2022 they spent a lot of time in their second home – a catamaran on the Florida coast, which they bought in hopes of one day sailing around the world with their children.

During her July interview with KTLA, Alexa said downtime at both locations was important to staying grounded as a family between her and Carlos’ busy work schedules.

“When we’re disconnected from work, we’re actually disconnected,” she said. “We can raise little island babies who just play outside and aren’t on screens all day. Because … there will always be a lot going on. So we really want to switch off.”

The family have been in Hawaii for the past few weeks but have a busy 2023 ahead of them between the schedule of Big Time Rush and other work projects.

in one new interview with KTLA On February 6, Alexa said, “Now we’re going to work for 31 weeks. So our downtime is really our downtime. And when we work, we work.”

That work will appear to include another new Hallmark project for the couple, who signed a multi-picture deal with Hallmark Media in October. during one Instagram live On Jan. 10, Carlos told fans they’ll be making a new Hallmark movie “in a few months.”

Meanwhile, on Jan. 13, the couple announced they had returned to their popular vlog and would be updating theirs after a 10-month absence YouTube channel “La Vida Pena Vega”. at least weekly with new videos of their family adventures, including several videos featuring a 2022 cruise they took with their children – the first they had taken since the pandemic. Her latest YouTube videoabout vacation with children, was posted two weeks ago and has attracted over 44,000 views.
