UFC President Dana White says a heavyweight bout between Alexander Volkov and Jairzinho Rozenstruik will preface a UFC Fight Night card on June 4.
The UFC has not officially announced an event venue, although the majority of Fight Night events in 2022 will take place at the Apex facility in Las Vegas.
Rozenstruik (12-3), of Suriname, was supposed to fight Marcin Tybura at UFC 273 last weekend; however, the match was abandoned the day before the event when Tybura fell ill. Rozenstruik, 34, who has alternated wins and losses in his last six competitions, has not fought since a unanimous decision loss to Curtis Blaydes last September.
Volkov (34-10) is about to lose to heavyweight Tom Aspinall in the first round of a UFC main event last month in London. The Russian heavyweight contender also has alternating wins and losses in his last four outings.
Volkov and Rozenstruik are the 7th and 8th UFC heavyweights, respectively.
