“If you look at any city in America where violent crime is on the rise and disorder is on the rise… what’s the one common denominator?” Bratton told The Post. “District Attorneys almost all phenomenally funded by George Soros.”
The New York Post reported that “Soros also donated $1 million to Alvin Bragg’s successful DA campaign in Manhattan and funneled the money through the Color of Change political action committee.”
The Gothamist also reported: “Color of Change PAC, a group that has successfully supported reform-minded prosecutors across the country from Philadelphia to Michigan to Atlanta since 2016, announced they would be donating $1 million through their Political Action Committee to support them in mailers, advertisers, and phone banking on behalf of Bragg.”

Update: Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg won the November 2021 general election with over 83% of the vote. He took office on January 1, 2022 and his current term ends on January 1, 2026.
Alvin Bragg (D) is a veteran attorney and former Chief Deputy Attorney General of New York. For over twenty years, Bragg has been committed to defending the rights of New Yorkers without status or power. He is running for Manhattan’s next District Attorney to bring his professional and real-world experiences to the forefront of criminal justice reform. If elected, Bragg would become the first black district attorney to head the Manhattan Attorney’s Office.
A lifelong resident of Harlem and the only black man in that race, Alvin Bragg had direct encounters with the criminal justice system that shaped his understanding of injustice and influenced his political positions.
Bragg grew up in Harlem and witnessed and witnessed violence first hand. As a teenager, Bragg was repeatedly stopped and searched by the NYPD, including three times at gunpoint. He has seen loved ones arrested and has opened his own home to support a close family member after incarceration.
The confirmation post on a site called Voting While Black reads:
Alvin Bragg uniquely understands the injustices embedded in our broken criminal justice system and will work to reverse the effects of mass incarceration. As Manhattan’s next prosecutor, Alvin Bragg has pledged the following:
Hold the police accountable by setting up a specialized unit to investigate police misconduct and publicly report the findings.
Refuse to prosecute low-level crimes that have no public safety benefit.
Prioritize harm reduction strategies, including treatment for mental illness and substance use disorders.
Track racial disparities in our criminal justice system and provide training throughout the DAs office to eliminate them.
Reduce the number of guns on the streets by cracking down on the gun trade and using outreach programs to engage communities and deter violence.
Create an independent, transparent Conviction Integrity Unit dedicated to reviewing and overturning convictions of innocent people wrongfully accused.

Soros wrote that he supports “reform prosecutors.”
Soros wrote an editorial in the Wall Street Journal about his efforts to fund prosecutors entitled “Why I Support Reform Prosecutors”.
“Americans desperately need a more thoughtful discussion about our response to crime. People are fed up with the demagogy and divisive partisan attacks that dominate the debate and obscure the issues,” wrote Soros.
“Some politicians and pundits have tried to blame the recent spikes in crime on the policies of reform-minded prosecutors,” Soros wrote. “The research I’ve seen says otherwise. The most rigorous academic study, analyzing data from 35 jurisdictions, shows no association between the election of reform-minded prosecutors and local crime rates.”
According to Fox NewsSoros “tried to argue that the policies implemented by prosecutors to whom he has donated millions of dollars, including New York City District Attorney Alvin Bragg,” are “popular” and “effective.”
An article in the city newspaper contradicting Soros’ claims, writing in part: “In addition to the data on the extent to which serious violent crimes are being committed by repeat offenders, this claim is also undermined by the fact that those released from state prisons are being prosecuted by the Bureau of Justice Statistics averaged about ten prior arrests and five prior convictions prior to their last assignments.”
Color of Change’s PAC pulled half of its money from Alvin Bragg after a “troubling allegation,” reports say
However, The Daily Mail reported Color of Change withdrew $500,000 of the money it was supposed to use to support Bragg over a “troubling allegation” that the story doesn’t explain.
According to the Daily Mail, the allegation was made “by an unnamed woman” via text message and “causing Color of Change, the political action committee backed by billionaire George Soros, to cut off funding.”
The Daily Mail reported that Color of Change “was ramping up its efforts and reaching voters in New York City in May when a woman on the list made the allegation against Bragg.”
A source told the Daily Mail that “it threw a wrench into the PAC that was getting ready,” but the Daily Mail was unable to reach the woman, so details of what she wrote were not released.
On his website, Color of Change stated, “We design campaigns strong enough to end practices that unfairly hold Black people back and champion solutions that move us all forward. Until there is justice.”
The website continues: “Color Of Change helps people respond effectively to injustice in the world around us. As a national online force powered by 7 million members, we move business and government decision makers to create a more humane and less hostile world for Black people and all people. Until there is justice.”
According to PBS, Bragg is the first black district attorney in Manhattan’s history and “handled Republican Thomas Kenniff on Tuesday to join a wave of progressive, reform-minded prosecutors in several major U.S. cities.” According to PBS, his platform focused on law enforcement alternatives.
The New York Times reported Bragg faced controversy over a memo that indicated his office would “stop asking for jail and prison terms for all but the most serious crimes.” According to The Times, two prosecutors in his office had previously resigned when the Trump investigation initially failed.
Donald Trump slammed Alvin Bragg on Truth Social, claiming he “allowed new violent crime records to be set.”
Trump’s post on Truth Social said: “Now, illegal leaks from a corrupt and highly political Manhattan prosecutor’s office, which has enabled new records of violent crime and whose leader is funded by George Soros, indicate that no crime has been committed in Capable of being proven and based on an old and completely debunked (by numerous other prosecutors!) fairy tale, the far and wide leading Republican candidate and former President of the United States of America will be arrested next Tuesday. Protest, take back our nation!”
CNBC reported That the investigation concerns Trump’s firm “recording as legal expenses a $130,000 reimbursement to his former personal attorney, Michael Cohen, which he gave to porn star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election,” and says Trump denied having sex with Daniels have.
Trump also wrote:
Our nation is now third world and dying. The American dream is dead! The radical left anarchists have stolen our presidential election and with it the heart of our country. American patriots are being arrested and held captive like animals, while criminals and leftist thugs are allowed to roam the streets, killing and burning without retaliation. Millions are pouring through our open borders, many from prisons and mental institutions. Crime and inflation are destroying our way of life…
“President Donald J. Trump is completely innocent, he has done nothing wrong, and even the biggest and most radical left-wing Democrats make that clear,” said Steven Cheung, a spokesman for the Trump campaign. to the New York Times.
