Amazon workers in New Jersey vote on unionization


Union organizers won the right to hold an election at one in New Jersey, marking the latest union push since workers at a New York warehouse earlier this month voted to form the company’s first US union

The union’s local 13th International Brotherhood, which submitted to the vote on Friday, has shown it has enough support from workers at the Bayonne, NJ, facility to hold an election, according to the National Labor Relations Board. In order to obtain the right to hold an election, petitioners usually have to show that at least 30% of the employees at a site are interested in an election.
