American Idol season 10 finalist Haley Reinhart hits screens this November in a new film role. The singer will also contribute music to the short film titled “Americana.”

“I’m honored to play a role and share my voice in the @americanamovie. 🤍 Check out my original song “Lovesick” (from my new EP) featured here! I am very happy to announce that I will be releasing the full music video on Monday 11/21/22!!! The short film, directed by @joshuashultz, will also debut Monday!” Reinhart wrote an Instagram post.

“Americana” stars Joshua Shultz, who directed and co-wrote the screenplay with Jim Kalergis.

Reinhart plays Sue, a bar owner and singer, on Americana. The short film tells the story of a man trying to find and rescue his child trafficked daughter. Reinhart says the film has a very important message, telling fans, “Americana is an important film that breaks your heart and gives you the courage to stand up and help make our world a better place, a much safer place.” , to make sake for our children. #americanathemovie #lovesick #newmusic #shortfilm 🕊️”

In addition to her role in the film, Reinhart sings her song “Lovesick” during a bar scene and will also be releasing a new music video for the song. Lovesick was originally released with her 2022 EP Off The Ground.

The “Americana” filmmakers are highlighting their film’s core themes of child trafficking and raising awareness of these issues in the real world. They included a note on the film’s YouTube page, writing to viewers: “If you would like to help us fight human trafficking, please visit www.ourrescue.org for more information and to fund their efforts.”

“Off The Ground” is Haley Reinhart’s debut EP

It’s been over a decade since Haley Reinhart first appeared on “American Idol,” and the star’s career is busier than ever.

Reinhart auditioned for the ninth season of “American Idol” in Chicago for the first time, but did not advance to the next round. A year later, she came back for the season 10 audition in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and sang “Oh! Darling” by The Beatles. The judges recognized her growth over the previous year and sent her to the next round. Reinhart made it to the live shows through Hollywood Week and survived America’s voting almost every week, despite finishing in the bottom three several times.

In the penultimate week of the competition, Reinhart was eliminated in third place behind eventual winner Scotty McCreery and runner-up Lauren Alaina.

Reinhart has worked closely with the group since her time on Idol Postmodern jukebox, as well as releasing solo music himself. Although Off The Ground is Reinhart’s first EP, the singer has released four full-length albums, 2012’s Listen Up!, 2016’s Better, 2017’s What’s That Sound? and Lo-Fi Soul. from 2019.

In conversation with forbesReinhart says her work on “Off The Ground” was inspired by “Stevie Wonder’s ‘Off The World’, that song itself, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Sly, Buffalo Springfield to The Zombies”.
