An adorable Grogu detail you may have missed in The Mandalorian

This is the way (of cuteness).

Anyone who’s watched an episode of The Mandalorian doesn’t need reminders of how cute Grogu (aka Baby Yoda) is. Even people who haven’t seen the show know who he is. Well, just when it seemed like he couldn’t get any cuter, this scene starring Bo Katan and Din (aka The Mandalorian) kick-started the cuteness in a subtle way that many people might have overlooked.

After Bo’s rescue of Din from Mandalore, the two are seen flying through open space while Grogu floats around in his pod in the background. Hovering just a few feet off the ground, the little green creature in this adorable bassinet-like device is cute enough on its own. Then this scene has to come and make him even more loveable.

At one point in the conversation, Din Bo responds with the standard Mandalorian phrase of assent: “This is the way.” Bo then repeats the line like a Mandalorian, but what happens next is kind of surprising and so cute at the same time.

Immediately after Bo says this is the way, Grogu is heard stuttering and almost forming words, with the cooing and other sounds coming out of his mouth. It’s almost as if he’s trying to answer the two by also saying that this is the way.

This surprises Din and Bo as they both turn to look at Grogu and then at each other. Unfortunately, the moment is interrupted by an explosion at the front of the ship caused by incoming fire. It seems like Grogu was babbling in the previous episode and this one suggests he’s finally learning to talk this season, but we’ll have to wait and see.
