Speaking of Sky Sports Football YouTube ChannelRob Holding has discussed the idea of potentially playing up front for the Gunners.
A centre-back by trade, Holding was asked how he would feel playing weekly as number 9 for this Arsenal side.
With his tongue pressed firmly to his cheek, Holding claimed he would win 20 for that side.
what was said
Holding spoke of possibly playing at the top.
“If you played up front for this current Arsenal side for 38 games and played every week, how many goals do you think you would score,” Holding was asked.
“We’re going at 20, 20 goals a season fellow striker, my price tag just went up sharply!” said Halt.
Of course Rob Holding wouldn’t score 20 goals at this Arsenal team if he started up front. He’s a centre-back, for goodness sake.
However, we can’t help but wonder how many goals a player like Holding would score if he were used as number 9 in this team.
This Arsenal team creates chance after chance and with the likes of Martin Odegaard, Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka to help you there will be opportunities.
Obviously a hold wouldn’t score 20 points, even the best forwards in the world struggle to reach that tally in some quality teams, but perhaps if he played every minute of every game and used in penalties he would go into double figures.
