An August heatwave is underway!

Now an August heat wave is underway! Temperatures will soar into the upper 90s and just over 100 for several days. We have to factor in the humidity and it will feel more like 105 to 110. A reminder to slow down and take it easy during these hot and mostly dry periods. High pressure over the region means skies remain sunny with little to no chance of rain. There are indications that late weekend humidity will gradually increase. This could result in afternoon showers or storms. For some, this might be a small relief from the heat, but most won’t see anything at all. In the meantime, going out there this week is going to be tough. We recommend that you stay hydrated and limit direct sunlight. On the other hand, the Gulf tropical system is likely to turn into a tropical storm overnight through early Tuesday. The storm will make landfall over the south Texas coast. All effects of the system will occur southwest of our state.
