An off-duty police officer is shot at a sports complex in Omagh, Northern Ireland

An off-duty police officer was reportedly shot dead at a sports complex in Omagh, Co Tyrone.

There are unconfirmed reports that he struck up to four times at the Killyclogher Road facility around 8pm tonight.

The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service has confirmed a patient has been taken to Altnagelvin Area Hospital for treatment following an incident in the village of Killyclogher.
