Midfielder Matt Corral speaks during the 2022 NFL matchup combined.

As the clock continues to tick the 2022 NFL draft and intelligence continues to make rounds, it becomes clear that people may not know exactly what the Detroit Lions are up to.

While one has a feeling that the team is going to make a move, another analyst will come out and say some variation to the contrary. At this point, that’s the simple fact for the Lions, as they seem to be one of the teams that can theoretically do anything when the NFL draft plays out.

The winds of change seem to be blowing more strongly during the day for the team, and in a new test draft on by Lance Zierlein, an intriguing point has been made regarding what the team could possibly be. choose to do and what moves they might make in the near future.

Zierlien let the Lions go with Aidan Hutchinson with their second overall pick, and when 32 appeared on the board, he let the team pick Ole Miss quarterback Matt Corral. However, that prediction comes with a caveat. Zierlien thinks the Lions can still progress further into the first round if they prefer a full-back.

“I have a funny feeling that the Lions will probably get mad and jump on the board for QB at some point, but if they sit still, Corral has a lot of talent to be a starter in the future. their future,” he wrote in mockery.

While Corral can come in and show off flash talent, there are others who could be targeted in exchange, such as Malik Willis and Kenny Pickett, either of whom could go midway through the first inning.

Would the Lions make a fortune for a quarterback at this point in their rebuilding with defensive needs? It’s hard to say, but some still see that the final move is very likely for the team.

How can the Lions solve the problem of gaining points to get a full-back

Who could the Lions consider in the draft for the quarterback in 2022 if they choose to switch places? There are plenty of options for the team, and that’s especially true after the Lions watched the Senior Bowl and NFL combine over the past few months. Corral is just one of the names that could be targeted. Prior to the draft, the Lions had seen the likes of Pickett, Sam Howell, Willis, Corral and Desmond Ridder excel. Any of these players could be early picks for the team, and while some make more sense than others, the Lions could conceivably roll the dice on one of these names if they are satisfied with how they can develop in the future. With 32 options in the draft, Lions can trade up to a bundle if they like one of these options.

Of course, Detroit need not panic and move in quarterback. Jared Goff will likely be the starter in 2022, which helps the Lions a lot. Teams can pick a midfielder if they find a midfielder they like and trust, but they don’t have to suddenly move anything and bring in a player they are uncertain about the future, which means they don’t need to cough up a lot of properties to board an unproven player. With this in mind, the team could simply push back their time until 2023 and what experts feel now is a stronger class overall in the position.

Mel Kiper Jr. believe that the lion skips the quarterfinal move

Do some think the Lions will avoid the midfield move in the draft? Many people believe so, including some experts. Such was the case in a recent iteration of ESPN pundit Mel Kiper Jr. about his two-round experimental draft in an internal work. In that simulation, he let Detroit make three picks, but unlike previous mocks, he didn’t let Detroit go with a quarterback at all. That result was not a shock to Kiper, who wrote in one of his articles that intelligence seemed to suggest that the Lions would not be in too much of a hurry to get a quarterback next year. 2022.

“The more I talked to everyone in the league, the more I thought the Lions would stand on a quarterback with their three picks in the top 34,” wrote Kiper in the simulation.

That reveal is pretty big at this stage of the game, but it just proves how divided people are. While some believe the Lions will stay like Kiper, others think the team will move forward in a position like Zierlein.

The countdown to the draft and learning about all this has officially begun.
