Andy Cohen reveals he doesn’t like wine glass tosses from real housewives

Andy Cohen has been at the center of all Real Housewives drama since the franchise’s first season debuted in Orange County in 2006.

While the Bravo presenter saw everything in an interview with Elle Australiacalled Cohen the one Housewives thing that really gets under his skin.

In the interview, Cohen said he’s a fan of the “shocking real-life moments” captured by Bravo’s cameras, but he draws a line on the women who get violent with glass. “If a glass breaks. I’m not really in it,” he said. “I don’t like broken glass.”

Cohen admitted that Teresa Giudice’s famous table flip in The Real Housewives of New Jersey was a key franchise moment, but he doubled down on the glass-throwing in other episodes. “I mean, the table flip was iconic, but one glass was broken. It’s just not interesting,” he said.

One of the most famous moments of this kind was that of Lisa Rinna throw wine glass on Kim Richards in the episode “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”, Season 5, “Amster-Damn!”

Cohen once listed the 2015 episode, which was filmed during a cast trip to Amsterdam, as one of his favorite Housewives episodes of all time. per an Instagram post shared by Bravo. “Amster Damn!” topped the list, followed by the season 1 finale of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, which featured Giudice’s famous table flip.

Lisa Rinna said the wine glass toss was one of the “biggest” moments of her life

The wine incident happened at an Amsterdam restaurant when Richards threatened to reveal a secret about Rinna’s husband, actor Harry Hamlin. After Richards raised a smoking gun related to Hamlin, the former “Days of Our Lives” star threw her a wine glass and told her to “never” touch her husband. The act of violence prompted Richard’s sister, Kyle, to run from the restaurant.

Rina later said people she never thought she would react like that. “I would say the breaking of the glass was probably the greatest moment of my life,” Rinna said in 2015. “I never thought that in a million years that would happen. I didn’t even know I had that in me.”

The Rinna Beauty founder attributed her viral moment to her desire to protect her family at all costs.

Hamlin later told Lapalme magazine he was proud of his wife, who defended him. “I find [Kim Richards] hinted that I would have made something out of the marriage, but Lisa got ballistic about it. I was very proud of her,” he told the outlet, per Us weekly.

Lisa Rinna isn’t the only real-life housewife to throw wine at a co-star

Real Housewives fans have seen several other wine-throwing moments over the years. The first big one came in 2011’s The Real Housewives of Orange County, as Tamra Judge threw a glass of red wine in the face of co-star Jeana Keough during the season 6 finale, resulting in a free-for-all. 2015 judges said BravoTV.com that she was worried after throwing the wine because she heard Keough got wine in her eye and that it “really hurt” her. “I heard that if there was ice in my wine and it hit her in the face, I could be charged,” the judge revealed.

In 2014, Ramona Singer was the “Real Housewives of New York City” star threw a wine glass at Kristen Taekman during a spit in a canoe, and the broken glass cut her lip open. 2019 Taekman said Bravo“It still drives me crazy to this day to think that she threw a glass — it wasn’t a plastic cup, like a picnic glass — it was a full glass on my lip.”

And in 2015, Brandi Glanville was there with Eileen Davidson in The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Glanville threw her wine at Davidson after the soap star refused to recreate a “Days of Our Lives” scene for her. After Glanville tossed her the wine, Davidson said she was angry and “humiliated.”

Rinna called the move “inappropriate and strange,” adding, “If she threw the drink in my face, I’d probably be in a squad car.”

And while it didn’t happen while filming The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Jennifer Aydin made headlines at BravoCon in October 2022 after an altercation with Joe and Melissa Gorga, her co-star Giudice’s estranged family members. According to page sixAydin threw a glass of water at Melissa Gorga’s assistant when it was originally supposed to be a glass of wine.

Whatever the drink, Cohen didn’t approve of the behavior. “I find it disgusting. period”, Cohen said E! News of the incident.
