Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte has predicted Dane Scarlett will have a “brilliant future” after impressing lately.

Tottenham defeated West Ham United 3-1 on Sunday afternoon with Son Heung-min bagging a brace in a superb win.

That leaves the top four hopes for Tottenham, who have recorded four wins in their last five Premier League games.

Conte will be focused on the here and now but, much like Tottenham fans, can’t help but get a little excited about the future with Scarlett.

Hype has been building steadily over Scarlett for a number of years, especially since she was named on the bench against Ludogorets in 2020.

Scarlett, 17, was a regular on the Tottenham bench under Conte but has only managed three minutes of Premier League action.

Whilst there is a lot of buzz around Scarlett, it’s important to remember that he’s only 17 and doesn’t amass that many U23 minutes due to his involvement in the first team.

Loans could come – things have worked out pretty well for Harry Kane – but Tottenham will have to remain patient and gradually build Scarlett.

Still, Conte gushed – unprompted – about Scarlett after Sunday afternoon’s win against West Ham.

Conte told Football London that he sees real improvements in Scarlett lately and applauds his achievements in Tottenham training.

Conte couldn’t speak highly enough of Scarlett, hinting he is a “really important prospect” for Tottenham and may have a “brilliant future”.

“I see a lot of improvement in today [Dane] Scarlett honestly, if I have to tell you,” Conte said. “When you see this guy improving a lot he’s only 17 but I can tell you he’s a really important prospect for Tottenham.”

“He has to be patient and work behind these very important players and keep working in that way because, as far as Scarlett goes, I can tell you I see a bright future for him,” he added.

Tottenham could sign yet another striker to support Harry Kane this summer but watch out for Scarlett in the years to come.
