Apex Legends Unshackled event release date and new Flashpoint skins

That Apex Legends Unshackled event unlocks this week, confirmed with new Flashpoint skins and cosmetics.

And fans can look forward to more than just new collectibles, as another mode is making a limited return in April.

Here’s what we know so far about this week’s big Apex Legends Update release date and content schedule.

When does the next Apex Legends event start?

Developer Respawn Entertainment has confirmed that the Apex Legends Unshackled event will release on Tuesday April 19th, 2022. Full patch notes have not yet been released, but there’s a good chance we’ll find out more before the event begins. And as in the past, Respawn has already made several big announcements related to the event. As announced earlier this month, new skins and cosmetics will be available for a limited time.

Players can unlock 40 event cosmetics including legendary skins such as “Machine Language” Crypto, “Bad Bot” Pathfinder, “Quantum Collision” Wraith, “Slingshot” Valkyrie, “Prison Pacifier” CAR, “Terminated” Hemlok, “Digging the Grave “Peacekeeper” and “Pyromania” Rampage. Apex fans also have the option to purchase Unshackled packs to unlock cosmetics, weapon charms, trackers, and more. An overview of Respawn’s upcoming Apex Packs confirms:

• Unshackled event packs are available for a limited time during the Unshackled event, but the items will be available in the standard Apex Pack pool of items after the event ends.
• Unshackled Event Packs guarantee you a non-duplicated Unshackled Event item.
• The new event will introduce 40 new cosmetic items themed around Unshackled.
• Unleashed items can be crafted with crafting metals. After two seasons, the crafting cost of unleashed items can be reduced.
• To preview the new items, players can go to the Themed Events tab in-game.

Flashpoint also returns for a limited slot to replace the recently removed control mode. As confirmed by Respawn, healing items in Flashpoint will be removed from the loot pool and replaced with “Flashpoint Zones”. These zones are large areas that heal all Legends within. If you want to restore your health, you might have to fight for it, making it a tense mix of close encounters on Olympus. There will also be new Flash Events hosted over a two-week period that will feature unique challenges and rewards.
