Are the Digimon 02 Movie Packs banned in tournaments?

It was recently announced that the tie-ins to the Digimon 02 Movie Pack will be legalized after a waiting period. Since they were only distributed as a pack of 3 tickets from a pool of 14 tickets to the first 50 visitors to American theaters, these tickets are only available for a limited time.

For those not in participating theaters or located outside of the United States, there is only one official way to obtain the product. Bandai’s premium product website at the low price of $80 plus shipping. That’s a hefty price, but it guarantees all 14 cards, as alternate art, 50 sleeves, and 5 egg sleeves.

Additionally the set contains Imperialdramon Dragon Mode ACE, currently only available otherwise unadorned in the Imperialdramon demo deck. A starting point for BT14, which saw inconsistent deliveries in Europe.

Digimon 02 card legality

The new cards in the demo deck have an earlier legality date, likely due to the cards becoming more widely available despite European shipping issues. The following cards will be unblocked November 24th.

  • P-109 Imperialdramon: Dragon Mode ACE
  • P-117 Veemon
  • P-123 Ukkomon
  • P-124 Davis Motomiya
  • P-130 Lui Ohwada

As with all other ban lists, any artwork variant of these cards becomes legal at the same time. The last 4 from the list will have 3 artwork variations as there are different prints for the Demo Deck, Movie Pack and Bandai Premium Product (BPP).

The remaining cards in the Movie Pack become legal December 8th. Since distribution outside of the film is limited in time and the BPP has not been announced, we expect an announcement for wider availability soon.

  • P-118 Wormmon
  • P-119 Hawkmon
  • P-120 Gatomon
  • P-121 Armadillo Mon
  • P-122 Patamon
  • P-125 Ken Ichijoji
