Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham are now in danger of missing out on the signing of Middlesbrough right-back Djed Spence with Bayern Munich.
That’s according to Sky Sportsthose who think Bayern are looking to bring Spence to Germany at the end of the season.
Bayern are being linked with a host of right-backs, with the likes of Jeremie Frimpong and even Jeremy Toljan having recently been linked.
Bouna Sarr looks set to leave Bayern this summer and a replacement right-back will be desired at the Allianz Arena.
Bayern explored the Championship market last summer by signing left-back Omar Richards from Reading and can now do it again at the expense of Spence.
An approach from Bayern is now expected in the coming weeks as they look to secure a well-arranged deal before the summer.
German rivals such as Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig are also said to be interested in Spence, but Bayern made the move first.
The report adds that Tottenham and Arsenal have been keeping a close eye on Spence but could now miss out on Bayern.
The Northern Echo reported last week that Arsenal were expected to buy Spence, but Liverpool have now entered the race.
Spence has been compared to Trent Alexander-Arnold by former Boro boss Neil Warnock, but was loaned out to Nottingham Forest earlier this season.
Spence shined for Forest and was particularly brilliant against Arsenal and Leicester City in the FA Cup earlier this year.
As an attacking full-back, Spence can understand a lot of followers because of his huge potential in the future.
A return to the capital could appeal to London-born rivals, so Arsenal and Tottenham still have a chance, but Bayern’s interest poses a big threat.
