Goal journalist Charles Watts has claimed that for himself Youtube channel that Arsenal want £10m-15m for Bernd Leno amid interest from Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United.

The well-known and respected journalist has reported that Arsenal will not receive the £19.3m transfer fee they paid for Leno to Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2018 (BBC Sport).

said Watts on his Youtube channel, as transcribed from The boot room: “Arsenal will try to get some money for Bernd.

“They won’t get what they paid for him but I imagine Arsenal will try to generate around £10m-15m for Bernd.

“One could imagine that he will end up returning to Germany if he can.”

Arsenal’s Bernd Leno would be good for Newcastle

In our opinion, Arsenal goalkeeper Leno would be a good signing for Newcastle in the summer transfer window, particularly for £10-15m.

For an experienced goalkeeper like Leno, such a transfer fee is not really a lot.

Yes, the 30-year-old is now behind Aaron Ramsdale in the pecking order at Arsenal, but we can’t ignore the fact that he’s very good and is at the top of his game at the moment.

If Arsenal are looking for £10m-15m for Leno then Newcastle should certainly make an offer.

It wouldn’t be a bad deal for Arsenal to sell a player they don’t need for £10m-15m.

Ramsdale will be the number one goalkeeper at Emirates Stadium for years to come, while Matt Turner will join Arsenal in the summer of 2022 and be his backup.
