Arsenal plan to spot the 17-year-old prodigy tomorrow – but so do Liverpool

Arsenal and Liverpool are often linked with the same players and Fenerbahce prodigy Arda Guler seems to be the newest name on their radar.

The Premier League’s biggest sides often get caught up in transfer speculation for players around the world.

The Turkish media are only too happy to play along and have linked Arsenal and Liverpool to a multitude of players over the years.

This time it’s Fenerbahce ace Guler, with fanaticism claims that Arsenal and Liverpool will scout him out against Galatasaray this weekend.

Bayern Munich are also believed to be interested as the 17-year-old is attracting interest from Europe’s big players.

17-year-old Guler was actually on the books at Genclirbirligi before joining Fenerbahce in 2019.

A small playmaker with great balance, quick feet and the ability to wriggle out of tight spaces to create in the final third.

Guler looks set to be a star in the years to come after showing great potential in Turkey, already having two goals and two assists in just eight league games.

It’s no great surprise, then, that Guler is attracting interest from a number of clubs, with Arsenal and Liverpool watching closely.

Liverpool are believed to sign another youthful playmaker in Fabio Carvalho and you’re wondering if adding another in Guler would be a priority.

It’s also worth noting that Ben Doak is joining Liverpool from Celtic, another attacking midfield talent.

While a move to Anfield seems hard to imagine, Arsenal could make a little more sense.

Martin Odegaard is a fantastic No10 but shaping Guler to compete with him would allow Gabriel Martinelli and Emile Smith Rowe to focus on the left flank.

Left-footed Guler will of course earn comparisons to Mesut Özil and his playing style seems quite similar to Ödegaard’s interns in terms of balance and cunning.

As a prospect for the future, Guler could be what Arsenal are looking for – and Sunday’s game could help Edu decide whether to make a move.
