Joe Willock is thriving away from Arsenal

In our opinion, Willock was right to leave Arsenal for Newcastle and the Gunners did well to capitalize on him.

It has worked for both sides.

Arsenal received up to £25m in transfer fees for Willock from Premier League rivals Newcastle in the summer of 2021 (Sky Sports).

Now, Willock hasn’t had the best start to the campaign, but he’s beginning to find his feet again under Howe and is doing his part to keep the Magpies from being relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.

The Newcastle No. 28 has made 21 starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League so far this season.

The 22-year-old has scored two goals in those games.

While on loan at Newcastle in the second half of last season, the England youngster scored eight goals in 11 Premier League starts and played a huge part in the Toon Army’s whereabouts.
