Arsenal have reportedly distanced themselves from the shock rumor spread from Brazil on Friday.
According to Globo TV journalist Eric Faria, Arsenal are in negotiations to hire Brazil coach Tite after the World Cup in Qatar later this year.
It was quite the bombshell of a revelation considering Mikel Arteta is letting the Gunners play pretty well, with the Spaniard’s team favorites qualifying for the Champions League.
But, ESPN Brazil has published a follow-up report on Faria’s claims.
Accordingly ESPN BrazilArsenal have reached out to insist that it ‘nothing‘ on speculation that the 60-year-old will take over the Emirates Stadium club.
Arteta is not going anywhere
The rumor mill is capable of churning out a lot of you-you-know-what, but even by those standards, it’s pretty incredible.
Not only are Arsenal perfectly happy with Arteta – who turned 40 today – there has even been speculation that the Gunners will extend his contract.
And if they finish in the top four, it’s well deserved.
Re-establishing Arsenal in the European elite has been the Spanish manager’s short-term goal and if that is achieved – and it should definitely be the case this season – a contract extension will certainly be offered and signed.
