Arsenal want a ‘special’ former Emery target but he could seal an emotional £58m move instead

Arsenal’s pursuit of Christopher Nkunku has become even more difficult as Paris Saint-Germain are keen to re-sign him – especially if Neymar leaves.
This emerges from a report by Foot Mercato in Francewho claim that PSG is the club that wants to sign Nkunku “more than anything”.
Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are all said to be in the running to sign Nkunku.
Still, Nkunku is now considered a ‘summer priority’ for PSG as the French giants seem keen to rectify a mistake.
Born in east Paris, Nkunku was already climbing through the PSG ranks at the age of just 13.

But in 2019, PSG sold Nkunku for just €13m (£11m) and he became an absolute superstar with RB Leipzig.
In 40 games for Leipzig this season, Nkunku has managed a frankly ridiculous 27 goals and 17 assists.
Nkunku, 24, is reaching heights PSG probably never expected from him and now they want him back at the Parc des Princes.
The report even adds that Nkunku will become an even bigger priority for PSG when Neymar leaves the club this summer.
Neymar has reportedly been offered to Barcelona and PSG are ready to strike for Nkunku with talks already underway with his representatives.
It could be a hugely exciting move for Nkunku who might even be able to help keep Kylian Mbappe at the club given their friendship.
All of this is bad news for Arsenal, whose hopes of signing Nkunku will be severely hurt by PSG joining the race.
Arsenal don’t have the emotional appeal that PSG will have for Nkunku, but it’s still worth asking where he would fit in.
Nkunku, hailed as ‘special’ by Tyler Adams, is best as an attacking midfielder but this is where Martin Odegaard shines for Arsenal.
It just wouldn’t be right to push Nkunku far out or into a deep role, especially when he costs €70m (£58m).
Arsenal may be better off focusing elsewhere as their window to sign Nkunku – a former Unai Emery target – may be gone.
In other news, the club are asking Arsenal to pay £100m, they have already rejected Newcastle’s offer
