Arteta promotes the 19-year-old Arsenal talent to first-team training after Partey’s injury

Mikel Arteta has promoted 19-year-old Arsenal talent Miguel Azeez to first-team training after Thomas Partey was sidelined with a groin injury. The Gunners meet Brighton at the Emirates on Saturday afternoon.
Young talent Azeez made his Arsenal debut under Arteta with the Gunners in the Europa League last season – but his second spell is yet to come. He was loaned out to Portsmouth for the first half of the current season.
It comes after he only played 10 times for Pompey. He has returned to the Gunners and plays for the U23s. In his nine Premier League 2 games, the London-born talent has scored two goals and provided one assist.
With Partey ruled out, Arsenal released a behind-the-scenes look Videos on Twitter their training session before Saturday and Azeez is sighted. All Nigeria Soccer Reports that he was actually promoted to training by Arteta.
Azeez promoted: Arsenal star could be on the bench against Brighton
In midfield Albert Sambi Lokonga should join Granit Xhaka behind Martin Odegaard on Saturday. Arteta could drop Odegaard alongside Xhaka and start Smith-Rowe as 10 as well.
But chances are that given Arsenal and other Premier League clubs can name nine substitutes, Azeez will likely take a place on the bench when Lokonga starts. Mo Elneny is also an option, an unused sub at the Palace.
