Artwork sought to display in Cause Village at Made in America festival in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) – Calling All Philly Artists! Made in America is looking for creatives and students to be featured at this year’s festival on Labor Day.

Their artwork will be front and center at the event’s entrance, on display at their Cause Village.

This will be the first time since 2019, the art installation will be on display at Made in America because of the pandemic.

The letters written on CAUSE VILLAGE are 20 feet tall and will be decorated with works by locals from across the city.

Dania Diaz, CEO of Philanthropy, Roc Nation, said: “It will stand out as you walk in and lead you to the Cause Village, which is exactly that footprint, which will lead you to over two dozen organizations in the local area. of Philadelphia,” said Dania Diaz, CEO of Philanthropy, Roc Nation.

The charities represented include those that support social justice, voter registration, youth development and health and wellness. Diaz says that this part of the festival is just as important as the performances themselves.

“One of the things about this festival is to honor not only music, but to honor the contributions of communities and people, to honor the individual. It’s also the strength of the collective, and so is art. .. art also brings people together,” she said.

Submissions are due next Wednesday, July 6, and installation will take place over Labor Day weekend along the Ben Franklin Parkway.
