Avoid a few scattered showers Friday as the cold front moves through

We have a sunny but windy weekend ahead, with a chance of a few storms next week

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) – The pesky low pressure system finally broke down as it snaked further south this morning, bringing more sunshine to the entire region. Clouds have moved into the region again this evening and tonight.

The week will end with mostly cloudy skies and just a few showers in the late afternoon and evening as a frontal system approaches. Just in time for the weekend the front clears and there are very pleasant but windy conditions.

After a very nice weekend, we are tracking our next frontal system, which could potentially bring the threat of severe storms to the Southeast. For now, we have thunderstorms introduced late Monday and early Tuesday morning until the frontal system passes.

In the short term, temperatures will be near 70°, with afternoon highs ranging from the low 40s to mid 50s with morning lows.

A dry front arrives just in time for Turkey Day, bringing cooler temperatures at the end of the week.
