Katie Thurston & Nick Viall

Former Bachelorette Katie Thurston and former Bachelor Nick Viall are falling out. According to Us WeeklyThurston told a viewer in a question-and-answer session on Instagram, “Nick Viall is blocked from my phone.” The response came after the fan asked, “Why does Nick Viall hate you?”

Viall and his model girlfriend Natalie Joy are puzzled by Thurston’s hostility towards the 41-year-old host of The Viall Files podcast. in one Episode of the July 11 podcast, Joy indicated that she saw the question and answer exchange between Thurston and the viewer and was very confused. “I know for a fact that Nick was always just trying to help her and give her advice. Which she’s never taken,” Joy claimed.

Why did Thurston block Viall?

The reason Thurston gave for blocking Viall was because people keep telling her he talks about her on his podcast, Sh***, and she’s sick of it, reports Us Weekly. However, Joy believes that she blocked him for an entirely different reason. Viall’s 24-year-old girlfriend claimed on the July 11 podcast that the real reason Thurston blocked Viall was because “she’s trying to protect herself from texting Nick things she shouldn’t be saying.”

Joy and Viall both agreed that Thurston is the only one in the franchise who takes to social media just to “chat” about the boys in their season. She and her guest, podcaster Lisa Schwartz, all admitted they found Thurston’s actions very inappropriate. Viall said: “I’ve heard some horror stories about my colleagues but I don’t want to publish everything. It’s almost as if [Katie] feels like she has that ownership of these guys from her season.

The feud continues…

Viall went on to share the story of how Thurston was on his podcast shortly after the episode aired, in which she sent Thomas Jacobs home and “gave him arguably one of the most gruesome goodbyes in the season’s history.” Viall said he tried to give Thurston “a way out” because her cruelty was rooted in unsubstantiated rumors, but instead she “doubled down” and warned the women on Bachelor in Paradise to stay away from Thomas, “suggesting that he was such a bad guy.”

Joy and Schwartz then encouraged Nick to read the last text Thurston had sent him before she blocked it, hoping it would provide listeners with clarity about their feud. In the end, Joy read the lines for him, which read: “Ultimately, my opinion of Greg doesn’t matter. I knew before he left that he wasn’t the one. It was hard to look back and always give him validation just for him to go the way he did. But I knew even then that there was no way he and I would have worked in the real world.”

Viall’s response to that text appears to have added fuel to the fire, prompting Thurston to expel him. Nick explained on the podcast that he wrote back to Thurston: “It’s good that you have clarity. As long as you’re happy, that’s important.” Thurston resented his response and blocked it shortly after.

Thurston didn’t say why she was offended by that response. She may have questioned the sincerity, though, because that’s exactly what she did with a previous response from Viall when she confronted him about speaking badly of her on his show. According to Life & StyleThurston revealed: “I sent a message [Nick] At one point I was like, ‘Hey, just so you know, people find the things you say [about me] kind of weird.'” This prompted what she called a “passive-aggressive response,” reports Life & Style, i.e., “How great that you have fans who care about you! Don’t take it personally!’” Thurston apparently did.
