“The Bachelorette” star Rachel Recchia recently opened up about a major medical procedure she’s been considering, and she now appears to be on the other side of the surgery that’s been pursuing her for a decade. She promised to share the journey with fans and they are stepping up to support her.

Rachel Recchia wanted breast reduction surgery

Recchia first spoke about her desire for a breast reduction in a February 7 TikTok. The 27-year-old explained that she’s been researching the procedure since she was 17, noting that she hopes to finally have the surgery in March. “I’m really excited, but I’m super, super nervous,” admitted the former Bachelorette. Recchia added, “I truly believe that the surgery will absolutely change my life.”

“The Bachelorette” star promised she’d share her journey as she moves forward, and she’s since shared a few updates. On February 15th Recchia posted a new TikTok video She declared her desire to have breast reduction surgery. She shared that she was a competitive cheerleader in high school and struggled with her large chest at this stage in her life. At 17, she was making frequent visits to the chiropractor to get her back issues under control, and she recalled, “I just remember wearing about 3 sports bras at a time,” as she tried to cheer and size to hide her chest behind her petite body . Ultimately, Recchia decided the surgery was not feasible at this stage in her life. But now she felt ready.

Recchia’s operation is now behind her

While a second TikTok video Explaining her decision, Recchia admitted, “I feel like I spent all my teenage years and early twenties just hiding my body.” She revealed, “That’s why you would see me very much covered up most of the time” in “The Bachelorette”. Recchia admitted she would try on things suggested by the show’s stylist, Cary Fetman, pointing out how well they would fit after she had her breast reduction surgery. During her run as “The Bachelorette” alongside Gabby Windey, fans would sometimes criticize Fetman for what the ladies wore. He rejected the criticism on Instagram and explained Weekly entertainment Recchia described her style as “mother of the bride”. While she was open to trying new styles, Fetman was also trying to “stay in her comfort zone” as he attracted both Windey and Recchia. For Recchia, her comfort zone seems to include a tendency to cover up her breast size, as she has for years.

Recchia revealed on TikTok on March 7 that it was the night before her surgery and she was in prep mode. She shares a Los Angeles apartment with Genevieve Parisi from The Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise, and Parisi has always been by her side. “Last day with boobs,” teased the former “Bachelorette.” Her video ended with the caption “I did it!” and a quick look at her walk home after surgery. Responding to a commenter, Recchia noted that she’s “doing better than I thought!” She replied to someone else that “It only took me 10 years to make it, but it was worth it.”

The Bachelor sub on Reddit shared a few screenshots of Recchia’s Operations update, and over 150 people commented on the thread.
