Barcelona join Ancelotti in race for Arsenal’s ‘phenomenal’ man

Announcement of Spanish dealer Cule Mania Barcelona have joined El Clasico with rivals Real Madrid in the race to sign Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney. The report said both sides had put together ‘good reporting’ on the Scotland international.

Tierney, 24, is believed to be one of the front runners for the Arsenal armband in the summer, when Alexandre Lacazette is expected to leave. His contract at Emirates expires at the end of June and is free.

Aside from an ankle injury that has kept the Celtic icon out of Arsenal for four games after recovering – Tierney has started 17 Premier League games for the Gunners this term, shining on the left flank.

He helped Arsenal keep seven clean sheets in that time, and scored four goals – scoring one and assisting three. It comes as a small surprise that Barcelona have joined Madrid in the hunt for the Arsenal defender.

Recent reports say Madrid want him as a replacement for Marcelo, who like Lacazette is out of contract this summer. Barcelona now want him to replace Jordi Alba – with both clubs believed to have signed the Scot.

Tierney – once called “phenomenon” by Sir Alex Ferguson – there are three options, then. Stay at Arsenal or maybe join one of Spain’s two biggest clubs. Barcelona and Madrid both need a left-back – but Madrid more than that.

Alba still has a contract until 2024 and remains important to Xavi’s side. Tierney may struggle to replace him, as he has played 412 times for Barca. In Madrid, Ferland Mendy is an option but Marcelo will go.

However, Tierney’s best option would certainly be to stay at Arsenal, win the captain’s armband and become the driving force behind the Gunners re-establishing their place in the top four. Real Madrid and Barca could be tempted, though. coax.
