Bared horrors of Ukrainian Bucha on Jablunska Street

BUCHA, Ukraine — In early March, Volodymyr Borovchenko walked up Yablunska Street to get to his work at a home for children with special needs — and straight into a Russian military restricted zone.

Russian troops, stopped by Ukrainian forces advancing on Kyiv, had occupied Bucha days earlier. The Russian soldiers told local residents they were concerned that someone would report their positions to the Ukrainian military and ordered people to stay away from the road that runs parallel to the Bucha River on the southern edge of the city.
