Baton Rouge police make two arrests in a nightclub shooting

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with a January shooting at a Baton Rouge nightclub.
Baton Rouge Police Department arrested Nikeal Franklin, 19, and Jy’Shaun Jackson, 19. Franklin was charged with 12 counts of attempted murder and illegal use of firearms. Jackson was charged with 12 counts of first-degree murder.
On January 22, 12 people were shot dead at a club on the 4600 block of Bennington Avenue. Several were treated at local hospitals.
Police say detectives from the St James Parish Sheriff’s Office were assisting with search warrants related to the St James Parish case.
The investigations are still open.
