For those just starting out with Warcraft Rumble and have chosen Rend Blackhand, the Flying Leader is one of the best early characters for overcoming many of the campaign’s challenges. Warcraft Rumble: Rend Blackhand Traits, Talents and Leader Abilities
Rend Blackhand is a flying Blackrock faction leader who rides his dragon named Gyth, from which he can dismount after being defeated. In addition, Rend is strong against armored units, attacks with elemental AoE damage, and can use a leader ability to make summoning other flying troops on the battlefield cost one gold less.
As is common with flying units, he is weak against ranged characters and not strong enough to fly alone. Therefore, it will be crucial to support him with allies. Below is a list of his talents in Warcraft Rumble:
- Scale and steel: Gain resistance while flying to reduce elemental damage by 50%, and gain armor while dismounting to reduce physical damage by 50%.

The build gives you four more flying units that can benefit from Rend’s leader ability, while Quilboar acts as your tank/ground unit to open chests or fend off certain units.
Furthermore, it is a given Scale and Steel is Rend Blackhand’s best talent as it gives the leader the necessary buffs for a flying unit’s survivability. The other talents help him deal more damage, but what’s far more useful is that Rend can take hits and stay in the fight longer. However, don’t be afraid to try new combinations with different units to find what you enjoy most.
