Big changes and rewards are coming in Season 20 of Iron Banner in Destiny 2

“Prove your worth, Warden!”

Iron Banner has undergone several changes over the past year, and now Bungie has just announced that even more changes are coming soon. In the latest TWAB, they discuss that as we get closer to the upcoming Lightfall DLC, more big announcements will be in progress, and today they’ve started Iron Banner.

A significant change is coming sooner than expected. On Tuesday, January 31st, Iron Banner returns for the second and final time of Season 19, doubling the amount of reputation you earn per game. This change will carry over into future seasons as well.

Bungie says they want to reduce the number of games it takes to rank up so it’s more worth playing. This is likely in response to last week’s Iron Banner where players intentionally lost games to quickly make a name for themselves.

Beginning with season 20, Iron Banner is now introduced three times per season instead of twice. This gives players another opportunity to earn the exclusive Iron Lord title while earning more Iron Banner gear throughout the season. Overall, these are some great changes that should hopefully bring some life back to the playlist.
