Billy Joel leaves the Melbourne crowd begging for more as he belts out his classic hits

Billy Joel proved that age doesn’t hold him back as he took the stage at MCG in Melbourne on Saturday, leaving a crowd of 76,000 fans screaming for more.
The veteran performer, 73, looked every inch the Man in Black in a dashing tailored suit and tie as he entertained his fans with enthusiastic renditions of his hit songs.
The New York-born rock star sported his signature white goatee and stayed true to his nickname “Piano Man” by performing several songs on a large Steinway.

He couldn’t wipe the smile off his face as he performed his only concert in Australia this year and had the crowd screaming for an encore.
All eyes were on the Uptown Girl hitmaker as he performed his favorite songs from his fifty-plus years in the industry.
At one point, he cracked a racy joke when he told the crowd they were lucky he hadn’t released any new music since 1993, when “you’re gonna hear the same shit you heard last time.”

It was the Piano Man’s only Australian concert of the year and a stunning show of all his greatest songs.
The 26-song setlist included “Uptown Girl”, “My Life”, “Just The Way You Are”, “She’s Always A Woman”, “Pressure”, “Allentown”, “Only The Good Die Young”, “The River”. Of Dreams” and “Piano Man,” The Herald Sun reported on Friday.
These tracks were also in the lineup for Joel’s one night only gig in Auckland, New Zealand on December 3rd.

“It’s weird going all the way to Australia just to do one show, but I think that’s the deal,” he recently told The Herald Sun.
“You have to make songs that people know. You can’t just do all your obscure album tracks because a lot of people might not know them.’
In June, Billy announced he would be traveling to Australia for a one-off concert at Melbourne Cricket Ground on 10 December.
Billy is the third best-selling solo artist of all time, having sold more than 150 million records over the course of his career.

At one point, he jokingly told the crowd they were lucky he hadn’t released any new music since 1993 than “you’re gonna hear the same shit you heard last time.”
