Blob Opera’s holiday songs come just in time for Christmas

Blob Opera is a machine learning project that Google has had for a while and it is also undisputed star of this year’s Google I/O conference. Now, Google is updating Blob Opera for the holidays.
Announced on Twitter, Google revealed that Blob Opera is getting a holiday upgrade with some Christmas songs, a snowy background, and a Santa hat for the entire quartet.
Starting this week and possibly for a limited time only, the Blob Opera experience features a toggle at the bottom of the page to “Let it Snow.” After tapping that option, you’ll be greeted with a slightly updated design as well as a list of eight different songs. Added tunes include:
- ring the bell
- Quiet night
- Joy for the whole world
- Listen! The Herald Angels Sing
- Walk in the Manger
- O Come to all faithful friends
- First Christmas
- Been to Royal David’s City
Update 12/31: Since then, Google has removed the Christmas songs, replacing them with “Auld Lung Syne” to ring in the new year.
As of December 24, all of these new songs are live, but it’s unclear how long they will last. As usual, you’ll be able to use blobs to create your own versions of these classics.
