Blue Reflection Sun has a male protagonist; New art revealed

The Blue Reflection series unveils its first male protagonist.

The Blue Reflection series has always had an all-female cast, but the upcoming Blue Reflection Sun changes that element.

DMM and Koei Tecmo unveiled new artwork by character designer Mel Kishida and another teaser trailer revealing the fact that the game has a male protagonist who takes on the role of the player’s alter ego.

This might not be too surprising since Blue Reflection Sun is a mobile gacha game that is also available for PC. These types of waifu games like Azur Lane or the recent Goddess of Victory: Nikke tend to have a non-fighting hero who gathers the ladies and sends them to fight.

Still, it’s the first time a male protagonist has taken the scene in a traditionally female-dominated series like Blue Reflection.

It is currently not known whether there will only be a male option or whether there will also be a female alternative, similar to Fate/Grand Order.

Along with the new hero, we also see the Eroded forms of eight of the girls. In case you haven’t kept up with the news about this game, this is a form assumed by girls who have been mutated from the “Ashes” and manifest supernatural abilities. By transforming into Eroded, they can harness their full power.

The game will be a free-to-play “heroic JRPG” with the usual optional microtransactions (which means traditional gacha, as mentioned above) that will be released for PC sometime in the future (probably via the DMM client). iOS and Android.

Although we don’t know the release date, a beta is coming and registration is already open in Japan. Those selected to test the game will be notified on November 30th and the beta itself will be playable between December 2nd and December 30th.

There is currently no information on whether the game will be released in the west or localized in English. We’ll have to wait and see. Blue Reflection Sun has a male protagonist; New art revealed
