Blue Reflection Sun Reveals Gameplay Screenshots Upon Entering Closed Beta

Here is the first look at the gameplay of the mobile gacha game Blue Reflection Sun.

DMM and Koei Tecmo have released new screenshots of the upcoming mobile and PC game Blue Reflection SUN.

We see the girls, a few narrative moments including the male protagonist, the menu (which seems to have a selectable girl that appears, as is usual for this type of game), the list of characters you have, and fight scenes.

The developers also launched a closed beta today in Japan, allowing players to play up to Chapter 3. Character development and the gacha mechanics are also available. The beta runs until December 9th.

If you’re not familiar with Blue Reflection Sun, the game was announced over a year ago in March 2021 and then stayed pretty much under the radar for a while. It was uncovered again a few weeks ago.

At the moment there is no release date for Japan and no information on whether the game will be released in the West or localized in English. We’ll have to wait and see.

The game will be a free-to-play “heroic JRPG” with the usual optional microtransactions (what traditional gacha means) that will be released sometime in the future for PC (likely via the DMM client), iOS and Android.

It also features the series’ first-ever male protagonist surrounded by ladies (unlocked through gacha, of course) who have been mutated by the “Ashes” and manifest supernatural abilities. They unleash their true power by transforming, and they were designed by acclaimed Blue Reflection artist Mel Kishida, who you may also know for his work on several of the Atelier series games.
