Bobby Moynihan Animated Series Announces Release Date

Comedy Central has announced the premiere date for its new eight-episode animated series lightning wolves through Bobby Moynihan. The upcoming ’80s Cartoon Homage premieres Friday, April 15 at 12 p.m. ET on Comedy Central Animated YouTube and Comedy Central Animated Facebook.

The story of the upcoming animated series follows the titular Lightning Wolves, a team of half-wolf, half-humanoid creatures tasked with protecting the omniverse from the sinister Moom, Keeper of Spells, and his overwhelming and unsuccessful band of henchmen. The team of heroes consisting of Wolfi-O, Wolfette, Wolfro, Manitoba, Dingo and White Wolf must band together to battle these forces of evil while learning lessons and becoming better wolf people through communication and introspection while facing the existential fear that they are all just toys and nothing really matters.

But this one has a lot of swearing.” Moynihan will also lend his voice to the series, something he’s no stranger to. He has lent his voice to numerous animated series and films, including the 2017 reboot duck storiesCartoon Networks We bare bearsand the english dub of the Tatooine Rhapsody Short film that was part of the 2021 Disney+ series Star Wars: Visions. This will be the first animated show to have him at the helm. Alongside Moynihan, the animated series will star Taran Killam, Ben Blackand Cobie Smulders with the rest of the cast with voice talent from Eugene Cordero, Donald Faison, Sofia Gonzalez, Will McLaughlin, Griffin Newman, Lennon Parham, Nicole Parker, Connor Ratliff, and Jimmy Simpson.

In addition to being the series’ creator and voice artist, Moynihan also serves as the series’ director, writer and executive producer. Other executive producers on the project include Luke Kelly-Clyne, Kevin Healeyand Drew Buckley for the big breakfast, as well Jason Berger and Amy Laslett for playing children. Sachi Esura, Taylor Kowalsky, Lisa Kleinmanand Steve Elliott are also executive producers for the MTV Entertainment Group. The studio handling the animation for the upcoming series is LowBrow Studios.
