Bouncers in New York City reach tentative deal with building owners, preventing strike

New York bouncers and other homebuilders said Tuesday they had reached an interim contractual agreement with their employers to avoid these workers’ first strike in more than 30 years.
The local 32BJ of the Service Employees International Union, which represents about 32,000 doormen and other workers in high-end residential properties, had been at odds with representatives of building owners and operators over the terms of a new employment contract.
