It’s not always easy being the center of attention on a reality show while pursuing a career, and for a Southern Charm star, the pressures of both fueled an Adderall addiction that was very difficult to break. Craig Conover, who has appeared on the hit Bravo show since the original season in 2014, has explored his addiction and its effects in his new book, Pillow Talk: What’s Wrong With My Sewing?
Conover wrote, “Two seasons of filming Southern Charm while I was attending law school, plus the responsibilities of being a paralegal at a busy law firm, left me physically and emotionally drained,” Conover said E! news. He added: “Living in Charleston has drained me. The Endless Nights; the liquor the struggle to keep up; and, yes, the Adderall, had kicked my ass. The consequences of living like a celebrity finally came and beat me to death.”
As viewers may recall, Conover lost his job and moved back to his parents in Delaware after the second season of Southern Charm. However, he returned early in Season 3, although he revealed in his memoir that he continued to take Adderall and had increased his dose as he had no idea how to be on the show without taking the meds.
