Britain strengthens defense cooperation with India

NEW DELHI – British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said Britain will accelerate arms exports to India and provide expertise to help the country build its own equipment as the West seeks to wean the South Asian nation from its reliance on Russian military equipment.
During a visit to India on Friday, Mr Johnson said Britain would tighten licensing rules for defense equipment exports to India and cut delivery times. The UK will provide its know-how for new Indian-designed and built combat aircraft and will also support India’s maritime technology needs.
